TownRun Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

TownRun ("the app," "we," "us") is a community errand- and trip-sharing app that helps neighbors in trusted circles help each other with errands. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. TownRun is operated by Juan Deskin in Washington State, USA.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your phone number (used to verify and sign in to your account) and the name you choose to display to other members.

Content you create. Requests you post (items needed, store, notes, tip amount), trips you announce, your trusted-circle connections, messages generated by app activity (such as notifications), delivery details such as drop-off location descriptions and reimbursement amounts, and delivery proof photos taken by runners.

Usage information. Basic technical information generated by using the app, such as device type and app diagnostics, collected through our service providers.

We do not currently collect precise GPS location, contacts, or payment card information. TownRun does not process payments; any tips or reimbursements are arranged directly between neighbors outside the app. If we introduce location-based features or paid subscriptions in the future, we will update this policy and ask for any required permissions before collecting that information.

How we use information

We use your information to operate the app: creating and managing your account, showing your requests and trips to members of your trusted circle, sending in-app notifications about run activity and circle invitations, keeping the community safe (such as processing reports and blocks), and troubleshooting problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. There are no ads in TownRun.

Who can see your information

TownRun is invite-only. Your name, requests, and trips are visible only to members of your trusted circle — the people you have mutually connected with in the app. Delivery photos and details are shared between the asker and runner for a given errand.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase (Google LLC) to provide authentication, data storage, and photo storage. Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's terms. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Data retention and deletion

Your information is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account); this removes your account and personal information from our systems. You can also request deletion by contacting us at the email below.

Children

TownRun is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Your data is stored with Firebase using industry-standard protections, and access within the app is limited by trusted-circle membership. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app.
