Common questions

What is TownRun?

TownRun connects neighbors who need something picked up with neighbors who are already heading that way. Post a request, or announce a trip you're taking so others can send requests along.

It's built for small towns and rural areas, where a trip into town is a real errand and someone is usually already making it.

Why do I need an invite?

TownRun works through circles — small groups of neighbors who have connected with each other. You only see requests and trips from people in your circle, and they only see yours.

To join someone's circle, ask them to send you an invite from the app, or share your invite code with them.

Does TownRun handle payment?

No. TownRun doesn't process payments or hold money. Reimbursement and tips are arranged directly between neighbors, the same way they would be without an app.

The app records a suggested tip so both people are on the same page before the errand starts.

Who can see my phone number?

Your number is shared with a neighbor only after a run is accepted — either they accept your request, or you accept theirs. It isn't shown on open requests.

Coordination happens by text or phone, so a runner needs a way to reach you once they've taken on your errand.

How do I report or block someone?

To report: tap the ⋮ menu on any request or trip and choose Report. Pick a reason, add details if you want, and optionally block the person at the same time.

To block: open your circle, tap the neighbor, and choose Block. Blocking removes them from your circle and hides their posts from you.

Blocked neighbors are listed under Profile → Blocked neighbors, where you can unblock them.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile and choose Delete account. This removes your profile, your requests, and your circle connections.

If you can't get into the app, email us from the address on your account and we'll take care of it.

I can't sign in

Use the same method you signed up with. Signing in with Apple when you originally used Google — or the other way around — creates a separate account rather than opening your existing one.

The sign-in screen shows which method you used last on that device. If you're still stuck, email us and we'll sort it out.
